At Home Euthanasia
The term Euthanasia originates from the greek word meaning "Good Death". Our goal is to help your pet at the end of life to pass over the rainbow bridge without pain or stress. Making the decision to say goodbye to your pet is one of the most difficult you will have to make. Dr. Walling will be there to help you through the entire process. You can be with your pet for the entire process or as much as you feel comfortable. Each step will be explained in detail so that you will be aware of what to expect.
Your pet will first be sedated to the point of unconsciousness. Once your pet has become relaxed and unaware of the surroundings he/she will receive an injection of a medication that will first quiet the brain so your pet will not feel any pain. Then the heart and breathing will stop.
After your pet has passed we can help you arrange after care. Dr. Walling can take your pet to arrange private or communal cremation. There are options for urns that you can choose from to remember your pet. If you choose a private cremation your pets ashes will be available for pick up at our office in Brewster, NY after 5-7 days.
We will also make a clay or ink paw print for you to keep as a memory of your beloved pet.
If you have any special requests regarding memorials or aftercare please call, we are happy to help you with special arrangements.
