ABOUT DR. WALLING

I grew up in awe of my grandfather who was a veterinarian. I always dreamed one day I might follow in his footsteps and become a veterinarian myself.  I pictured myself working in a busy small animal practice, caring for puppies and kittens, and performing diagnostics and surgeries.  Through my years of practice my vision of how I can best care for animals has evolved.  Indeed, it is rare for a clinician to dedicate their work to the end of the patient’s life. Helping pets and their families through this end of life process is both challenging and rewarding. This is an incredibly stressful and emotional time for people. Being able to help them, while helping their beloved pet, has made me realize it is my true calling. I launched Comforting Care Veterinary Services in 2017. My vision is to provide the best end of life care for pets possible, whether it be in their last months or minutes, and to help their family through this process.

Education and Experience:
I went to veterinary medical school at Ross University and did my senior clinical year at the University of Missouri.  After school I did an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City.  From 2001-2016 I worked in both small practices and large specialty centers.  In 2018 I became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture.  I am delighted to have this to add to pain relief for my patients.

In 2020 I became certified in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care through the IAAHPC (International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care).  There are so many ways we can keep your pet comfortable and happy.  My goal is to help your pet have a good quality of life as long as possible.

I am here to help you and your pet through this difficult time, please feel free to call me to discuss your concerns and to see if my services would be helpful.
